School History
Dr. David C. Walker Elementary serves students in grades fourth through six and was opened in 2007. The campus is the seventh campus of the largest charter school district in the state of Texas.
he school is named after the pastor of Alamo Christian Fellowship Church. The school is located within the church structure.
Pastor Walker graduated from Waltrip High School in Houston in 1971. Four years later he graduated from Houston Baptist University. From Houston, he moved to Fort Worth where he received both a Master of Divinity (1978) and a Doctor of Ministry (1981) from the Southwestern Baptist Theological seminary.
Dr. Walker began his ministerial vocation as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Hobart. Since then, Dr. Walker has served several churches in Texas and Oklahoma. He moved to South Texas in 1983 to pastor the First Baptist Church in San Antonio.
In 1987 a new congregation was formed in San Antonio on IH 35 North which has become the Alamo City Christian Fellowship. Within the past few years an additional 18 acres of land and a new gymnasium have added to the church’s facilities.
Dr. David C. Walker is married to the former Shirley Morrow. They have three children; Abbi, Katie, and Evan.
